About the Homework Center

The Homework Center, dedicated to Gaea Shaw, is a welcoming place where students can find the homework help they need. Volunteer tutors offer free tutoring in a variety of subjects for students from 3rd grade through high school. Bilingual tutors are available.


  • Sessions are typically held Monday-Thursday during the school year. 
  • Sessions generally follow the Boulder Valley School District calendar of holidays and closures.
  • Transportation is available for Angevine Middle School students; call their office at 720-561-7100 for details.

Math & Physics Tutoring

  • Private and semi-private tutoring at no cost.
  • Drop in to get help with math, algebra, geometry, calculus, and physics.
  • Sessions are held Monday-Thursday during the school year.
  • Math and Physics sessions: offered to high school students only.

Gaea Shaw

    Gaea Shaw was the leader, spirit, and soul of the Homework Center for 13 years. Her skill and passion marked her years as coordinator of one of the Library’s most successful programs, and her guidance and commitment made an enormous impact on the lives of many children, adults, and families.
