Every May we take a break from our weekly Storytime schedule to gear up for summer!

Special Storytimes

  1. Pop-up Storytime at the Econ-O-Wash

    Pop-Up Storytime at the Econ-O-Wash

    Tuesdays on May 9 & 23, June 13 & 27, July 11 & 25 - 10:30-11am
    Join us for a bilingual or musical Storytime with activities at the Econ-O-Wash, located at 410 E Simpson St.

  2. Sensory Storytime with Megan

    Sensory Storytime

    Fridays, June 9 and July 11, 10:30-11am
    Kids and caregivers - enjoy Storytime for ages 2-8 designed for ndividuals that are neurodiverse and/or have sensory needs. Storytime will be structured and include singing, and books read by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Sensory toys will be available for any child that needs them.

  3. Special Event Saturdays, 11am or 3pm

    In addition to the special storytimes listed, there are all-ages performances held at 11am or 3pm almost every Saturday of the summer! 

    • June 1 - Jeff & Paige at Festival Plaza, noon
    • June 3 - Grupo Tlaloc Aztec Dancers, 11am; Tiny StageMusical Story Hour, 3pm
    • June 10 - Malia Manuakea Book Release Celebration featuring Hulu by Keaka O Kalani, 11 am
    • June 17 - Drag Queen Storytime, 11am;  Theo Wilson Presents: "The History of Juneteenth," 3pm
    • June 24  - BackStory Theatre Presents "The Three Little Pigs," 11am
    • July 1 - Ann Lincoln Magic Show, 11am
    • July 8 - "Paint Your Own Sky" with author Lulu Buck, 11am
    • July 15 - Instrument Petting Zoo with Michael Stanwood, 11am; Zimbabwean and Southern African Music with Zivanai Masango, 3pm
    • July 22 - BackStory Theatre Presents "Make Believe and Beyond," 11am
    • July 31 - Mayan Worry Dolls (Quitapenas Mayas) workshop with Luna Cultura, 11am
