Get or Renew Cards
Get a free Library card
- Apply in person at any Lafayette Library service desk.
- Bring proof of Colorado residency to activate your card.
- Computer-access-only cards are available if you don’t wish to borrow items.
- Colorado residents must have their own computer or borrowing card to use the public computers. (Guest passes are available for out-of-state visitors.)
- Accounts are for an individual, not a family. Children under 17 must be accompanied by a parent to get a borrowing card but may obtain a computer access card without a parent present.
- You may make a temporary online card to place holds or start using online resources; please visit to replace this card with one that allows you full privileges and longer borrowing terms.
Renew or replace a card
To renew, or to report a lost card, call 303-661-1163 to verify your current contact information, or stop by any service desk. Replacement cards are available free of charge at any Library service desk.
