Group Fitness Class Description
Hatha yoga is the overarching umbrella of yoga that encompasses most of the traditional styles, including Vinyasa and Ashtanga. Hatha yoga is the fundamental system of yoga that focuses on the pairing of poses with breathing technique. Hatha yoga uses the practice of the poses to rinse out the body and build the physical strength and endurance required to spend long periods of time in meditation. Once the Hatha yoga practice is complete, the ideal mind body harmony has been created to facilitate deep, relaxing meditation.
Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. Modifications are suggested for beginners or for those with physical limitations. Pilates mat is a challenging yet safe method to sculpt your body and to feel increased agility in your every day movements.
Remove the stress from your day by slowly and mindfully moving through traditional yoga poses while coordinating your movement with your breath to promote deep relaxation and a healthy body and mind. The body while engaging in calming, grounded poses. Relaxing Yoga is done primarily on the floor to help reduce unnecessary strain and put the mind and body at ease. Through relaxation and meditation, restorative yoga can help calm the nervous system and reduce the tension of the body.
Vinyasa is a style of yoga where poses are strung together to form one fluid sequence of movement. The class can be fast-paced and rhythmical, with a focus on connecting the movements with the rhythm of the breath. Vinyasa means to move with the breath, which is essentially the core of a Vinyasa class. Vinyasa Flow is a style of yoga with focus on transitions and movements, with less time spent in stationary poses. No two classes are ever the same, and often the sequences are creative and playful.
This is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. It’s practiced lying down, and draws our attention inwards, you learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, and your body finds its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness. From here, we can be healed, restored and awakened to our deepest, all-knowing, all-welcoming self.
Shallow Water Aerobics
This low-impact class uses water's natural resistance for minimal stress on the joints to promote fitness/toning and increase energy.
BODYPUMP is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. It will burn calories and increase your core strength and improve bone health. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own!
What will you have achieved by the end of this class? Calories burned, legs and butt toned and shaped, coordination and agility improved! You will improve your brain and body with a choreographed cardiovascular routine, a short upper body weight section and ab work.
Come enjoy the 45 minute ride. Whether you are riding for cardiovascular health or training for a race this class will get you there! These classes provide something for everyone: intervals, rolling hills, sprints, and climbs all to motivating and inspiring music. Along the way you will burn calorie and increase endurance.
Cycle & Core
A high intensity, 60 minute class with pure spin, and core specific work. We’ll begin with cycling – riding to the rhythm of powerful music. Then we’ll hit the floor for work focusing on the abs and lower back. This class can be adapted for any level of fitness.
A fast, effective, total-body workout leveraging bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises. If that isn’t enough, you can also build a rock-solid core and increase muscular endurance! This class benefits people of all fitness levels because you can control how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise simply by adjusting your body position.
Perfect for everybody and every body! Each Zumba® class is designed to bring people together and sweat it out. We take the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check.
Silver Sneakers Classic
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities of daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.
Silver Sneakers Stability
Movements taught in class focus on specific exercises to improve strength and power around the ankle, knee and hip joints, while improving your reaction time. This class is designed for fall prevention and is suitable for nearly every fitness level.
Silver Sneakers Yoga
Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
Young at Heart Aerobic Flow
This is the virtual version of Silver Sneakers Classic. Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities of daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.
