Art Table To Go Kits

Sign up now for a kit, pick up your kit during any hours the Collective is open. Complete your art project at home. Suited for all ages. Most materials included. Some household items may be needed.

Currently available:

  • Articulated Figure Kit Choose one of three fun kits to make a creative, articulated animal figure. Complete with supplies and instructions for assembly.  You may choose Basic, Medium, or Complex when you pick up your kit. 
  • Birds, Birds, Birds! In celebration of Spring, make a sweet little string of colorful paper birds, and learn about local avian life with our mini Field Guide to Lafayette Birds! Sign up to get your kit. 30 available.  
  • Watercolor Fun A basic watercolor kit including paint, brushes, and a couple pieces of watercolor paper. Find watercolor tutorials on our YouTube channel

Studio Art Kits

Developed by artists for at home creativity. These free, advanced art kits are available for pick up from The Collective. The recommended age is listed in the kit description. Kits come complete with all materials and a link to video instruction from the artist. The number of kits is limited, please sign up to reserve your Studio Art Kit.

Articulated Figure from a Photo: Advanced Studio Art Kit

Create an articulated figure or doll using a template or a photo. Denise Chaudhari shows all of the steps on a YouTube Video. Each kits comes with all of the supplies needed and the YouTube link to make your own articulated person beginning with a blank piece of paper. She reviews basic drawing, transfer techniques, watercolor tips, and assembly. This project requires some advanced skills and is suitable for ages high school and up.

Hand Building Techniques with Cannon St. Ceramics

Join Kyle Gutierrez on Zoom to learn several hand building techniques and create your own ceramic vessel.  Pick up your free kit of clay and ceramics supplies from Cannon Street Studio and join the Zoom demonstration on Saturday, March 6. This workshop will cover 3 basic hand building techniques.  Return your creation to the studio so it can be glazed and fired in the kiln. Watch the Zoom Video

Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department, in conjunction with the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission and the Public Art Committee, offer a variety of diverse programming.  Most of these events are free and open to the public.  Some require pre-registration.
