New York Times online access

Now you can access The New York Times online for free! 

  • Create a free account at NYTimes.com
  • Within the Library, logging in to that account will give you free access. If you see ads suggesting you subscribe to a paid account. Just ignore them!
  • Away from the Library, you will still need an account, but you must use our special access link to redeem a code for 72 hours of free access. You may use the special link again every time your 3-day "subscription" has expired.

Can I Use an App?

  • Yes! But first, create an account at https://NYTimes.com/register.
  • Download the free New York Times app from Google Play, Amazon Appstore or iTunes.
  • If you use your app at the Library, once you have logged in you are all set!
  • If you use your app away from the Library, you will still occasionally have to go to the Remote Access link in a browser (/NYT) in order to renew your gift subscription using the Library's special access code.
