This project consists of a Preliminary Plan/Planned Unit Development (PUD), Special Use Review, Minor Subdivision, Site Plan and Architectural for a mixed-use development. The plan includes four apartment buildings in duplex and triplex configurations, one live/work building, 13 residential units, and one two-story commercial (office/retail) building on the 0.65 acre site.
Because the property is located within the Lafayette Urban Redevelopment Area (LURA), a Special Use Review is required for mixed-use developments within LURA and the Site Plan/Architectural is not a recommendation to City Council.
The Planning Commission reviewed this project at their October 22, 2019 meeting. The Planning Commission recommended approval of the Minor Subdivision and Special Use Review. The Planning Commission approved the Site Plan/Architectural Review and Preliminary Plan.
On November 5, 2019, two persons entitled to notice appealed the Planning Commission’s decision on the Preliminary Plan. On November 19, City Council heard the appeal at a public meeting. City Council approved the Preliminary Plan with the same conditions as the October 22, 2019 Planning Commission decision plus two additional conditions.
The City Council also reviewed the Special Use Review and Final Plan for this project on November 19, 2019. The City Council approved the Special Use Review and continued the Final Plan to the January 7, 2020 meeting. On January 7, 2020 the City Council approved the 200 W Baseline Road Mixed-Use Subdivision Final Plan/PUD. This project is in progress.
