The City of Lafayette values residents’ opinions and believes effective community participation is an essential part of productive and successful municipal projects. This is especially significant right now as we continue working on a number of important master plans and projects that will benefit from active community involvement.
With our diverse and extensive project list, it’s a big ask of community members to continuously attend meetings and stay informed of updated information. That’s why we’re launching a new community engagement platform - Lafayette-Listens.com - that will provide residents with an innovative and convenient way for community members to share ideas, ask questions, provide input, and learn about ongoing projects.
Depending on the nature of a specific project, a variety of interactive tools will be provided such as;
• discussion forums
• idea submissions
• polls
• surveys (not statistically valid)
• crowdsourced mapping
• question & answers
Project features will allow users to;
• access background information and related documents
• view the overall timeline and identify where projects falls within the broader process
• see which City staff members are working on the project and their contact information
