Senior Center closed to drop-in visits effective Jan. 18, 2022
Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, the City of Lafayette closed City Hall and the Senior Center to the public until further notice.
The following Senior Center services will continue to be offered by reservation or appointment only:
- Activity or program registration
- Wellness classes or appointments
- Resource classes or appointments
- Registered trips
- There is no change if you are a part of these roster-based activities: Crafters for Charity, Lap Robers, Memory Games, Card games, Whatever Group, and Educational DVDs. These roster-based activities serve as your reservation.
All participants currently participating in the activities above are pre-registered. New participants will need to contact staff by emailing OlderAdults@lafayetteco.gov or calling 303-665-9052.
Additional City closure information
The Senior Center was included in the closures since the highly contagious Omicron variant poses a higher risk to our older adults. County and state health officials caution the Omicron variant is spreading rapidly.
The decision to close City Hall and the Senior Center to the public was made to protect the safety and well-being of residents and employees. Limiting public access to facilities allows the City to continue providing uninterrupted essential services while maintaining health and safety. The City will evaluate when to safely allow for public access to return to these areas.
