Non-Residential Water Rates

Analysis identifies the need for water rate increases effective July 1, 2023

The City has been actively working to update water utility revenue and expenditure projections to ensure rates and fees are sufficient to cover costs now and into the future. In late 2022, a comprehensive Utility Rate ad Fee Study was initiated which is helping to provide additional insight and a more thorough understanding of ongoing funding needs. The study has identified that significant revenue increases are required to meet projected expenditures for capital construction projects, aging infrastructure, water storage, water treatment capacity, additional water rights, and cost escalation. As a result, a 9% increase in water rates will go into effect on July 1, 2023, to help begin aligning revenues with expenditures over the next several years. July 1, 2023 water rates include a service charge based on your meter size plus the cost of use per 1,000 gallons.
