Let's Bring It! Plastic Free July

The Lafayette City Council has approved a proclamation for Plastic Free July

Take the Bring it! Lafayette pledge and make a difference by:

  • Reducing single-use plastic
  • Learning about the environmental impact from single-use plastic
  • Switching to reusable shopping bags to divert landfill waste

Whether you are a pro at grabbing your reusable bags and swapping out for green packaging choices or are ready to dip your toe into beginning to reduce your plastic use, July is a great month to start taking action.

Take the Bring it! Lafayette Pledge

Make a difference by bringing reusable bags to shop. It may not feel like a lot, but even small actions to reduce plastic use add up. The average person uses 1,500 plastic bags a year! Watch the Plastic Free Foundation's official Plastic Free July video to learn about swapping out plastics.

Take the pledge to bring your reusable bags today, and get a free reusable bag by looking for the Sustainability Team's table at community events, including July's Art Night Out.
