Public Records

Our Services

The City Clerk’s Office maintains administrative, operational, financial, legal, and historical records for the City of Lafayette dating from the late 1800s. Lafayette Police Department and Municipal Court records are maintained in their respective departments. The City of Lafayette has adopted the Colorado State Archives Records Retention Schedule, which establishes the length of time various records are retained.

Residents may request to view or receive copies of records by submitting a Public Records Request Form.

Due to the City of Lafayette's recent cyber event, the City Clerk has issued the "City of Lafayette Administrative Rule Governing Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) Requests Due to Cyberattack on City's Computer Infrastructure. You can find the Rule here.
