Card Program

Have you heard about the Senior Card program? It has existed for many years, quietly engaging and providing outreach to seniors in the Lafayette community. We send cards to seniors for celebrations, sorrows, or to let someone know that people are thinking about them. We hope receiving a card brings a smile to someone's face and brightens their day. We would love to hear from you. Please email requests to olderadults@lafayetteco.gov

Crafters for Charity

Share your time and talents with us to support community members. Knit, crochet, stitch, or help create something to:

  • Brighten the day of a cancer patient
  • Bring warmth to a youngster
  • Assist local charities

We welcome new people, new ideas, and learning about new ways we can contribute to our community.

Mats for the Homeless Volunteer Group

Our newest volunteer/craft group has tasked themselves with reducing plastic waste while helping our local community by using plastic bags to make mats for those experiencing homelessness in our area.

Using donated plastic grocery bags, our volunteers crochet them into sleeping mats. If you would like to know more about this group, please contact the Senior Center.
