Lafayette invites community members of all ages to See and Respond! to the annual Art on the Street sculptures through 2D art, photography, or poetry. 

See & Respond! is a beloved tradition in Lafayette. Our Art on the Street artists enjoy the responses to their sculptures and community members express themselves, contributing to the creative conversation.

See & Respond! Call for Artists General Information

  1. Cash prizes available for 2D Art, Photography, and Poetry inspired by 2022 Art on the Street.
  2. Three age groups - adults (18 and over), youth (middle and high school), and elementary school.
  3. Limit of two entries per person in any combination of poetry and/or 2D art and photography.
  4. Entry fee of $10 for each adult submission. Make checks payable to ARTS!Lafayette.
  5. No entry fee for youth entries.
  6. Entries must be suitable for all ages and for display in a public facility.
  7. All entries must be submitted with the official entry form attached and delivered according to the directions on the entry form.
  8. Teachers wishing to submit batch entries must contact Public Art Coordinator Stacey Bernstein for special instructions.

2D and Photo Requirements

  1. All artwork shall be delivered to The Collective, 201 N. Public Road no later than 5pm on September 13, 2022.
  2. Selected art will be on display in the Library gallery during the See & Respond exhibit, Sept. 27 - Oct. 29, 2022.
  3. Selected art must be framed or wrapped canvas with a wire on the back in order to accommodate the hanging system.
  4. Youth work must be framed with a hanging wire on the back, or fit in 8"x10" or 11"x14" size frame.

Poetry Requirements

  1. Poems may be in English or Spanish.
  2. Poems may not exceed two pages.
  3. Poems should be at least a standard 14pt font / whatever font size works for length of poem on the page.
  4. Two printed copies, one with no author name, should be mailed or delivered by Sept. 13, 2022, including the entry form to: The Collective 201 N Public Road; Lafayette, CO 80026.
  5. Selected poetry will be on display in the Library gallery during the See & Respond! exhibit.
