Celebrate the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr. The event will begin at noon at Angevine Middle School (1150 W South Boulder Rd.), with free refreshments, art and service projects, and live entertainment. Lafayette's annual March for Peace will commence at 1:30 p.m. with departure from the parking lot and proceed NE to City Park (at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center at 111 W Baseline Rd). Upon arrival, community members will participate in "UNITY," a large, interactive art project that seeks to uncover our commonalities and celebrate our diversity. The event, which is free and open to the public, will conclude at 3:30 p.m. A shuttle will be available during and immediately following the March, and 250 free event t-shirts will be distributed. This event is brought to you by the Lafayette Youth Advisory Committee with support from the Empowerment Center of East County, CU, Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission, and Campus Compact.
