Open Space staff and Urban Drainage and Flood Control District contractors recently began working on sections of Coal Creek Trail. For trail patrons' safety, and for repairs to proceed effectively and efficiently, trail users are emphatically requested to stay out of all sections of the Coal Creek Trail. City staff is working to repair select sections of the Coal Creek Trail. Weather permitting, staff will be repairing the segment between Elysian Field Drive and Centaur Village Drive; the segment between 120th Street and Public Road; and the segment between US 287 and S. Public Road. Sections north of Empire Road and between US 287 and Elysian Field Drive will likely be closed until work is completed next spring. The engineering design work will begin later this year for the underpasses at S. Public Road and 120th Street. Construction of those facilities and the S. Public Road Trailhead will begin early next year. The Coal Creek Trail north of the confluence with Rock Creek is open to State Highway 7.
