“Little Free Library” Ribbon Cutting Scheduled for May 9 at LaMont Does Park
The opening of Lafayette’s newest “Little Free Library” will be officially launched this Friday at 5:30pm at LaMont Does Park. The Lafayette Public Library is responsible for the installation of this new “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories.
In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share. Lafayette resident Bryan Holinka spearheaded this project on behalf of the Lafayette Library Board, and received help building it from former Mayor Chris Cameron’s father Bill Cameron. The Lafayette Library provided an initial supply of both English and Spanish books to get the site up and running.
