The Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission (LCAC) is seeking enthusiastic applicants to serve as committee members and alternates. The deadline to apply is November 14.

LCAC is a citizen committee dedicated to developing, promoting, nurturing, and celebrating arts opportunities in Lafayette. Members are responsible for establishing goals and objectives for arts and cultural programs, establishing budgets, marketing, and promotion. LCAC works with the Public Art Committee and the Cultural Resources Division. LCAC is a member-driven committee with limited city staff resources; members are expected actively participate and attend meetings.

Commission members are directly involved in supporting several programs including Art Night Out, local art shows, the Arts in Education and Arts in the Community Grant programs and bringing special programming to the community.

Lafayette residents are encouraged to apply for this opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of our vibrant arts community. Members of LCAC need not be artists, but should appreciate and value the important roll of arts and culture in a community. Members need at least one year of Lafayette residency, be registered to vote in Lafayette and attend a meeting the fourth Tuesday at each month at 7 pm at the Lafayette Public Library. Additional work may be required occasionally, based on current projects and programs.

For information and online application, go to www.cityoflafayette.com/joinLCAC. The application deadline is November 14. Applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview; contact Susan Booker for more information; susanb@cityoflafayette.com or 303-661-1260
