[ARCHIVED] Lafayette Police Santa Cop Program 2014

Santa Cop 2014

This year the Lafayette Police Department sponsored Santa Cop program helped nearly 95 families, with close to 280 children, have a happier holiday season! A party was held Saturday, 12/13/14, at the Lafayette Public Library where Santa & his helpers provided refreshments and presents for everyone who attended. New stuffed animals were available for children to pick out and take home. Volunteers from the Lafayette Library also set up a display of free books for children.

All of this was made possible through donations from people in the community and local organizations such as Exempla Good Samaritan Foundation, Ergentus, Proto's Pizza, Walgreens, Jax, Walmart, Elite Storage, Cozy Corner Toning, Firehouse Subs, Barlow's, Reelfish, King Soopers, EZ Pawn, VFW, Post Brewing, Mumtaz, Apeizza and Jasper Animal Hospital. All helped to assure that there were enough resources for this event, however a very generous monetary donation from the Exempla Good Samaritan Foundation truly made this year's event a big success! We also received 2 very large monetary donations from Lafayette citizens! We were overwhelmed by community generosity! Donated gifts this year will also be delivered to Good Samaritan Hospital.

The Lafayette Police Department would like to thank all who assisted in this year's Santa Cop program! The heartfelt gratitude expressed by the families who received the gifts and the huge smiles on the children's faces made all the teamwork put into this effort absolutely overwhelming.
