[ARCHIVED] Portraits of Great Colorado Women on Exhibit

Women Hall of Fame

The portraits of 48 outstanding Colorado women will be on display throughout the months of April and May in Lafayette at the Public Library, City Hall, and the GO! Center.

Lafayette is proud to present the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame exhibit to the public. The portraits and biographies of 48 extraordinary women are a testament to their passion, commitment, spirit, and willingness to stand tall in the face of obstacles. They were, and are, trailblazers, visionaries, women of courage, glass-ceiling breakers, innovators, and rule changers in all walks of life. Their contributions span Colorado's colorful and storied history, reach to its four corners, and have spread to touch our nation and our world.

Between now and August 1, 2015 the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for new inductees. Nomination forms, book lists and information are available at the portrait display locations.

The displays may be viewed at the following locations during their regular hours:
• Lafayette City Hall, 1290 S. Public Rd; Monday-Friday, 8-5• Lafayette Public Library, 775 W. Baseline Rd.; Monday-Thursday, 10-8; Friday and Saturday, 10-5; Sunday 1-5
• Lafayette GO! Senior Services Center, 103 S Iowa Ave.; Monday-Friday, 8:30-5

About the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame: The Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame was created to recognize, honor and preserve the contributions of trail-blazing Colorado women. Both historical and contemporary women have shared foresight, vision and accomplishment, but lacked a forum for recognition. Since 1985, the Hall has inducted 142 extraordinary women who have been outstanding in their field, elevated the status of women, helped open new frontiers for women or inspired others by their example. Inductees include scientists, teachers, social activists, philanthropists, authors, business leaders, elected officials and more. To view all 142 inductees, visit the website: www.cogreatwomen.org
