Special incentives for energy efficiency upgrades are now available to residents in Lafayette. A $100 limited-time bonus rebate, as well as efficient LED lighting or programmable thermostats, are being offered on a first-come, first-served basis to assist Lafayette homeowners to save energy, money and time. When this special incentive is combined with other EnergySmart and Xcel rebates, residents may enjoy up to $450 in savings.
The City of Lafayette, the Lafayette Energy Sustainable Advisory Committee (LESAC), and Boulder County have partnered to offer the additional $100 limited-time bonus rebate, thanks to a Boulder County Sustainability Matching Grant program. Rebates are available for projects that keep the heat out this summer, including insulation and attic sealing, basements and walls, whole-house evaporative coolers, whole-house fans, and efficient central air conditioning unit replacements.
How it works;
• The first 50 Lafayette residents to enroll with EnergySmart and complete an eligible home improvement project will receive a $100 bonus rebate.
• The first 200 Lafayette residents to sign up for a home energy assessment or in-home advising through EnergySmart will receive four bonus LED lightbulbs or a programmable thermostat.
Note: Homeowners must enroll with EnergySmart before home improvement work begins.
