[ARCHIVED] Update on traffic signal issues along Hwy 287

traffic light

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) discovered a faulty pedestrian crossing signal at the intersection of Hwy 287 and Empire Road (Hwy 42), and is investigating a similar problem at the intersection of Hwy 287 and Campus Drive. CDOT’s repair work should alleviate problems along this corridor near Good Samaritan Hospital.

Construction activity by CDOT and the McStain development company to expand the intersection of Hwy 7 (Baseline Rd) and Hwy 42 (95th Street) is underway to allow double left hand turns in all four movement directions. Work is expected to continue through July in this area and will impact traffic signal lengths until complete.

CDOT controls all traffic signals intersecting state highways. CDOT can be contacted at 970-350-2290 to assist with solutions if continued problems are experienced.
