[ARCHIVED] Are you prepared?

Be Prepared for an emergency

Will you receive text/email notices in the event a man-made or natural disaster should strike in Boulder County? Does your family have an emergency plan? Do you have a winter weather driving kit in your trunk? How will your pets be cared for? Do you know the difference between a tornado watch and warning?

September is National Preparedness Month and a great time to review the safeguards you and your family have in place to be prepared and informed in the event of an emergency. The City of Lafayette provides a wealth of information and numerous resources on its website www.cityoflafayette.com/BePrepared to assist residents in this process.

At the very least, residents are strongly encouraged to sign up for both City and County emergency notifications. This will allow families one additional layer of protection to stay informed of situations via cell, land line, and/or text messages.

Don't wait for a disaster to make you realize you aren't prepared.
