Join the Public Art Committee at the Miners Museum, 108 East Simpson Street, at 1:30pm on Saturday, November 14, for the dedication of Joellen Domenico's sculpture Winged Hunter. The sculpture is being installed to "honor James and Elizabeth Hutchison, and all of the other volunteers who have done work to preserve Lafayette's history," according to Susan Booker, Cultural Resources Coordinator. The public is invited to meet the artist and some of the volunteers who have worked so hard for Lafayette.
Ms. Domenico is a local artist with a reputation as a skilled bronze sculptor. Her work Winged Hunter was part of the 2014 Art on the Street program. It is a life sized bronze sculpture. Ms. Domenico says, "Through my creations, I hope to instill in others a deeper appreciation and inspiration to become a guardian of nature. I wish to create an awareness that as inhabitants of the Earth, we are all connected."
