[ARCHIVED] Sidewalks, Streets, and Snow

snow plow

SIDEWALKS
Did you know residents and businesses are required to remove snow and ice from individual sidewalks within 24 hours of the last measurable snow? Thank you in advance for helping to ensure Lafayette is a safe place for our pedestrians during the winter months.

More details of this code can be found on our website.

STREETS: The primary purpose of snow plowing is to clear roads for emergency responders. Snowplow routes are divided into primary and secondary snow routes. Priorities are also given to streets adjacent to hospitals and schools. All remaining residential streets are plowed or treated only if snow accumulations exceed 12 inches of undrifted snow.

More details and a snow route map can be found on our website.
