Lafayette shoppers get ready to be rewarded for supporting local businesses. On Saturday, November 28 the City and the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce are hosting a Shop Small event which will offer consumers exciting discounts and special promotions at local businesses.
Shop Small is a national movement encouraging people to shop at local businesses. Each year, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, millions of individuals, businesses, and communities have embraced this concept by supporting their local economy.
Invest in Lafayette is the city's "shop local" educational program, designed to keep tax dollars in town by encouraging shoppers to shop locally. When residents (and visitors) shop in Lafayette, sales tax dollars are "invested" to help pay for parks and open space, police officers, streets, library, public art, recreation, and other important government services.
The City’s website features a list of 37 participating Lafayette businesses who will be providing special offers on November 28 to celebrate Small Business Saturday. A full list can be downloaded at www.cityoflafayette.com/ShopSmall
