On 01/01/16 at 0826 hours officers of the Lafayette Police Department responded to a report of a domestic violence related incident in the 600 block of Princeton Place, Lafayette, Colorado. A subsequent investigation revealed a physical confrontation occurred in the early morning hours during a New Years party between Rebekah Jane Jones (39), children, and her live-in boyfriend. It is alleged that during the physical confrontation Ms. Jones obtained a handgun and attempted to use it against her boyfriend. Her boyfriend was able to take the handgun away from Ms. Jones. No shots were fired.

Ms. Jones was arrested by Lafayette Police and booked into the Boulder County Jail on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder, felony menacing, prohibited use of a weapon, child abuse, harassment, and domestic violence.
