The Cities of Lafayette and Louisville are preparing to begin work this month on a project to improve drainageways along Coal Creek in the area south of South Boulder Road and east of Highway 42. The primary purpose is for flood control. This project will formalize the path of urban runoff to Coal Creek by constructing a new storm sewer and a new network of open channel systems.
Sections of Coal Creek Trail will be affected during this project. Refer to the map link below to view trail detours and an overview of the general project area.
The City of Louisville is the lead agency on this project. Updates to the project will be publicized on their website; www.louisvilleco.gov. The Louisville project contact is Cameron Fowlkes (CameronF@louisville.co.gov or 303-335-4611).
There are two neighborhood open houses scheduled for January 14 and 15 to allow residents to see detailed plans and ask questions.
