Input needed for zoning changes in east/west Old Town areas
The City of Lafayette is considering new regulations that will impact property shown within the green boundary on the map linked below. The proposed boundary includes property in the Old Town residential zone as well as some T-1, R-2, and R-1 zoned properties. Some of the regulations may allow greater flexibility in how a property may be redeveloped or developed and other regulations may be more restrictive. These regulations apply to all zone districts in the area. To review the proposed changes please go to http://www.cityoflafayette.com/documentcenter/view/17302 .
The proposed regulation changes have come through the Old Town Residential Design Criteria process. Key issues looked at through this process include: Site Design, Building Design, Demolitions, and Building Massing and Form.
The Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing on June 21, 2017 at 7:00pm at City Hall, 1290 S. Public Road. City Council will tentatively review the proposed regulation changes at a 6:30pm public hearing on July 18, 2017 at City Hall.
The areas outlined in green on the Old Town Zoning Area Map are proposed to have regulations change, regardless of the zoning. If your property is located within this area, please review the proposed changes, pass along any comments you would like to make and/or attend public hearings before the Planning Commission on June 21 and/or City Council on July 18.
