[ARCHIVED] Lafayette businesses encouraged to apply for the 2017 Green Business Recognition Program

LESAC logo

The City of Lafayette’s Energy Sustainability Advisory Committee (LESAC) is announcing the launch of its sixth annual Green Business Recognition Program. Local businesses have the opportunity to receive free recognition and support for steps taken to become more sustainable.

Lafayette Green Businesses will receive valuable publicity, including digital advertisements, recognition by City Council, and a Gold, Silver, or Bronze decal to convey their commitment to enhancing sustainable operations. Participation in the Lafayette Green Business Program has dramatically increased over the past five years. In 2016, 52 businesses were recognized.

The program is a win-win for local businesses and consumers - saving money on utility bills and earning recognition. Businesses can feel good about lightening their load on the environment, and consumers can feel good about supporting them. This program is about the Lafayette community coming together and gaining momentum in the movement to create a better future for our children.

All business and commercial property owners in Lafayette are encouraged to join the Green Business Community. Guidance and support are available every step of the way. The Boulder County Partners for a Clean Environment (PACE) provides free one-on-one support to identify and take advantage of opportunities to save on utility bills, reduce waste and toxicity, and more. Assistance is also offered to complete the award application.

The 2017 Green Business application is available online at www.cityoflafayette.com/GreenBusiness or by contacting an expert PACE Business Sustainability Advisor at 303-786-7223 or info@PACEpartners.com.

The City of Lafayette, the Lafayette Energy Sustainable Advisory Committee (LESAC), Boulder County’s Partners for a Clean Environment (PACE), Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy and the Lafayette Waste Reduction Advisory Committee (WRAC), have partnered to offer this opportunity.
