Lafayette City Council has awarded $42,000 to 24 local nonprofit organizations who provide services and assistance for Lafayette residents. Funding is financed through the City’s general fund and distributed via the 22nd annual “One Lafayette” Grant Program. The awards fell into two categories; Essential Community Resources and Special Projects. A total of 31 non-profit organizations applied for funding.
The following 7 organizations were awarded a total of $16,500 Essential Community Resources funds: Clinica Family Health, Coal Creek Meals on Wheels, Immigrant Legal Center, Intercambio Public Achievement, Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN), Rocky Mountain Legal Center, and Saint Benedict Health/Healing Ministry.
$25,500 was awarded to 17 Special Project Grant applicants. The organizations included; Audio Information Network, BCAP (Aids Project). Centaurus Band Boosters, Colorado Music Festival/ Center for Arts, Dental Aide, Empowerment Center of Boulder County (Project YES), Foot Hills United Way, Foothills United Way (PIE Program), Growing Gardens, I Have A Dream, Imagine, Impact on Education, Peanut Butter Players, The Arts Underground/ Arts Hub, Thorne Nature Center, WOW Children’s Museum, and YMCA of Boulder County.
