Orange Zone Water Line Construction Project – Arapahoe and 95th Street
Construction of the Orange Zone water line along Arapahoe Road will begin the week of March 12 and continue for approximately four months. All Arapahoe traffic lanes will remain open during construction, but lane widths will be reduced. Please drive with caution and expect delays.
( Download a map of the construction area.) Construction on Section A will begin on or around March 12 and last approximately 10 weeks. Mobilization and work will then begin at Section B, and once that is complete, construction will commence on Section C. All timelines are estimates and weather dependent.
This project has been designed to minimize as much disruption as possible. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the overall water service to your homes.

Orange Zone Background: In the early 2000’s a water systems consultant identified the need for an additional water service line to the northern residential portions of Lafayette to avoid imminent water pressure problems and safety concerns regarding fire suppression. Approximately five years ago, the City began the process to obtain necessary easements and permits to construct this new line. All required permissions have been finalized and construction began in 2017.
