[ARCHIVED] Multiple mosquito control applications on July 5

Mosquito_Tasmania

Vector Disease Control International (VDCI) will be fogging five neighborhoods on Thursday, July 5, after 10:00pm. The neighborhoods that will be fogged are: Blue Heron Estates, Heron Lake Meadows, Cross Ridge, Spring Creek and Old Town (north of Baseline Rd). These five mosquito control applications will take place weather permitting.

To report mosquito problems or concerns please call VDCI at 888-774-2161 or visit www.vdci.net/colorado. The City of Lafayette contracts with VDCI to conduct surveillance of adult mosquito populations and to provide limited adult mosquito control when pre-determined disease and annoyance thresholds have been surpassed. The goal is to provide the greatest level of pest control and disease vector mosquito populations while maintaining a balanced use of cultural, biological, and least-toxic chemical procedures that are environmentally compatible and economically feasible.

During mosquito season, please remember the 4Ds!

1. Use DEET-enhanced insect repellent
2. DRESS in long sleeves and pants.
3. Avoid the outdoors from DUSK to DAWN
4. DRAIN standing water outside your home
