Artist and exhibition organizer Clare Scott, said, “A wonderful opportunity presented itself to our group of landscape pastel painters to paint a treasured space in Lafayette, Colorado. The Domenico Family has allowed the 6 of us to paint throughout the seasons on the farm that has been in their family since 1891.”
“We are painting during a special moment of pause between the time where the work of a farm, raising livestock, and crops are in the past, but just before dramatic changes are made by building new homes. During this space in time we are challenged to capture and preserve the beauty, mood, light and atmosphere that exists there now. Our group is doing its small part to help remember the views, and structures from the early 20th Century. We invite anyone who appreciates art, landscape, history and recognizes the need for pause just before change to attend our show.”
The mission of this exhibit and the corresponding events is to promote local art, history, and the surrounding natural habitats. Two plein air workshops will be held in conjunction with the show. Plein Air for Curious Beginners is a series of two, one day workshops, where people are invited to learn about Plein Air on July 14 and explore painting outside on July 15.
