2020 Pumpkin Decorating Rules
- Digital photo of entry: (up to 3 pictures) must be submitted by emailing recadmn@cityoflafayette.com by noon on Oct. 21. Submission must include the creator's name, age and entry title.
- Judging will take place on Oct. 22 and will be by age groups 5 and under, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15+. Winners will be notified via email and Facebook.
- All photo entries will be displayed on the Lafayette Recreation Facebook page.
- Only one submission per person. Multiple pumpkins, gourds, corn cobs, leaves etc. may be used in a single submission.
- Entered pumpkins may be carved, painted, and /or decorated. Entries may be scary, funny, fancy, or pretty much anything else that is family friendly and in good taste.
- Prize winnings will be available for pick up at the Bob Burger Recreation Center front desk (with ID) on, or after, Oct. 26

Great Pumpkin Race
Register to get your race-ready pumpkin! On Saturday, Oct. 24, at 6:30pm, pumpkins will be launched into the Lazy River at the Bob Burger Recreation Center (BBRC) and will race to the finish line while you watch and cheer on your pumpkin on Facebook LiveStream. Like the Lafayette Recreation's Facebook page and watch the event at 6:30pm. The race will also be shown at the Oct. 24, Park n' Flick big screen. Please sign up for the Fall Fest Park n' Flick, to view the race.

Fall Festival Park n' Flick (Free)
Gather your family, pack up the car, and join us for three Halloween themed cartoons in the parking lot of the Bob Burger Recreation Center (BBRC). Tune in your FM radio and relax in the comfort of your car. Be sure to visit the Trick-or-Treat dispenser before the show.
Enjoy the show from the inside of your vehicle. Sitting in the back of your truck or SUV will not be allowed.

Fall Festival Scarecrow Decorating Contest
Enter your creatively decorated scarecrows for a chance to win fun prizes. Your registration gets you a frame for your scarecrow and a location to decorate in City Park next to the Bob Burger Recreation Center.

Contest Rules:
- Participants may start decorating on Oct. 16
- Scarecrow judging will be held on Oct. 23
- Scarecrow frames will be planted in City Park with enough space to allow for physical distancing
- Materials supplied: Scarecrow frame (approx. 5ft)
- Suggested materials to bring:
- Scissors
- Hammer
- Old clothes
- Boot
- Twine
- Straw or dried grass or leaves
- Pillow case or burlap bags
- Attendees must follow all COVID-19 guidelines; Maintain physical distance of 6 feet from other families, and wear a face covering when under 6 feet from others outside your family.
- Construct your scarecrow to weather the elements
- Contestants can pick up their scarecrow after the contest on Nov. 2
- Winners will be announced Oct. 23 via email and Facebook. Prize winnings will be available for pick up at the BBRC front desk (with ID) on or after Oct. 26
