[ARCHIVED] Suspicious Package Found on Balmora Street

The package appeared to be a small jar that was wrapped in notebook paper and covered with packing tape. The object was the only item in the mailbox and the homeowner was alarmed that it may be some type of explosive device. Due to the unknown source, unknown contents and the unknown nature of this package, the Boulder County Bomb Squad was contacted and they responded to the location to determine if the package was a threat. Their investigation determined that the object was a pill bottle containing vitamins that were sent to the homeowner by an individual known by her. Writing that identified the contents and sender were found on the side of the jar facing the rear of the mailbox and was not visible until the bomb squad removed the jar from the mailbox. There was no threat or danger to the public. Investigation also determined that there was no criminal activity involved in this incident.
