There’s a new way to get around the City of Lafayette, and it’s free to use!
Boulder County Transit is now offering Ride Free Lafayette, a free, on-demand, door-to-door bus service that connects people to places within the City of Lafayette. Ride Free Lafayette allows residents and visitors to get where they need to go within the City of Lafayette and Kestrel community in Louisville for free. Residents and visitors can use the Ride Free Lafayette service to connect to transit stops, run errands, and much more. The service is free, open to all, and there are no limits to how often you can ride.

Rides can be booked in advance or for ASAP pick-up.
- App Booking – Riders can book a ride by downloading the On Demand Transit: Rider App, which is available for free in the App Store and via Google Play. Enter the keyword “Lafayette” into the “get started” section of the app to begin to book your trip.
- Book online – Riders can book a trip online at ridefreelafayette.com. Trips can be booked online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Call to Book – Riders can book a trip by calling (833) 456–3359. There, you can speak to a representative that will reserve the ride for you. Representatives can book a ride during hours of operation Monday through Sunday.
- Walk on Rides – Riders can simply board the Ride Free Lafayette bus if they see it in the community, and the driver can make a trip for the rider via their tablet.
Service Area
Ride Free Lafayette operates throughout the City of Lafayette with service to the Kestrel community in Louisville. The service area is generally bounded by Arapahoe on the north, 119th/120th on the east, the Good Samaritan Medical Center on the south, and 95th/96th Street on the west. All trips must start and end in the service area for the ride to be booked. Visit the website to view a map.
Health and Safety Measures
The safety of riders and drivers is the top priority for Ride Free Lafayette. Ride Free Lafayette buses are deep-cleaned each day and intermittent cleaning of high-touch points are cleaned throughout the day. Riders and drivers are required to wear a non-surgical face mask while riding the bus and buses run at reduced occupancy to allow for physical distancing.
