[ARCHIVED] Mulch Giveaway, May 29 and June 5

Mulch giveaway. Newsflash

Ever wonder what happens to all those Christmas trees you recycle with the City? They’re turned into mulch! Lafayette residents grab some FREE mulch.

Bring a pick-up truck or an open trailer and you can load it full of mulch for FREE! Bring your own shovels, pitch forks and containers to serve yourself.

Mulch has many benefits as it retains soil moisture, reduces weeds, controls grass, improves soil quality, and allows the soil to stay cooler in the summer. Mulch will be available to residents at the City Service Center, 1700 Avalon Avenue on Saturday, May 29 and Saturday June 5. Saturday, May 15 Mulch Giveaway is cancelled rescheduled for Saturday, June 5.

Mulch is available for pickup by self-service only. City staff will only be onsite to provide traffic control and will not be loading materials into vehicles.

The mulch giveaway is weather dependent. Sign up for the City of Lafayette Public Work’s departments newsflash for the most up-to-date information.
