August 3, 2021, is the first day interested Lafayette residents can pick up a City Council Candidate Nomination Petition Packet and begin circulating a nomination petition.
Candidates running for one of four open seats on the Lafayette City Council are required to circulate and submit a nomination petition containing signatures of at least 25 registered electors who reside within city limits.
Interested candidates may stop by City Hall on August 3 between the hours of 8:30am and noon to pick up a petition packet. Due to the nature of petition circulation, packets are not available online and hard copies must be picked up from the City Clerk’s office. After August 3, please call the City Clerk’s office at 303-661-1222 to schedule an appointment to pick up a packet.
Completed packets are due back to the City Clerk's office by Monday, August 23, at 5pm.
