The Lafayette Police Department is once again hosting the Santa Cop program. This program coordinates gift donations for families in need in our community. Lafayette is a unique community that includes a wide range of incomes. Many people do not realize there are still many Lafayette families that struggle to provide basic life necessities. For some parents, providing holiday gifts for their children is next to impossible.
If you would like to help support this program, the police department appreciates new toy donations (appropriate for ages 2-15) or monetary donations. The department cannot always meet the needs of our nominated families by toy donations. Monetary donations are used to purchase additional gifts that meet other needs. The Lafayette Police Department accepts donations year-round, but toy collection boxes are placed in City facilities in November. This year collections boxes can be found at the Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette City Hall, Lafayette Public Library, and Bob Burger Recreation Center.
You may drop off a monetary donation at the Lafayette Police Department during normal business hours or mail a donation to 451 N. 111th St. Please make checks out to City of Lafayette. Donations for the 2021 program need to be received by December 3. Donations received after December 3 will go toward next year's program.
If you have any questions about donating to this program or how nominations are made for this program, please contact Robert Wilson in Community Affairs, 303-661-1383, or email.
Thank you very much if you can help support this program!
