The Lafayette Urban Renewal Authority (LURA) is a seven-member public entity appointed to lead revitalization efforts in Old Town. LURA works in partnership with the City, private property owners, and businesses to remove blight, rehabilitate existing structures, attract new mixed-use development, and improve streetscapes to create an inviting and vibrant downtown.

The LURA Board is pleased to launch a new online engagement tool dedicated to facilitating interaction and encouraging input from the Lafayette community regarding Old Town Lafayette. The LURA Listens project page is making its debut this week, and is part of the City’s platform.

What to expect from the LURA Listens page?

  • Project updates
  • Periodic engagement activities
  • Feedback opportunities on workplans, projects, meeting topics
  • Input on prioritizing projects and activities

How will you be able to interact with this new platform?

  • Review documents and plans
  • Understand background information and historical data
  • Mapping exercises
  • Question and answer activities
  • Discussion topics
  • Project surveys
  • Subscribe to updates and news feeds
  • More!

What’s available as of Feb. 3?

Mapping Activity: The mapping tool asks users to identify areas within the LURA district that need attention by dropping a pin on a map and describing ideas and input for those areas.

Stakeholder Survey: This quick seven-minute survey asks participants to help think about and prioritize projects that will in turn help shape LURA workplan.

Input received by March 3 will be reviewed by LURA at its March 8 meeting.
