Find your creative inspiration at Waneka Lake! During 2022, the Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department is hosting an open call for entry of artwork of all types and mediums. The theme of the exhibit is A Year at Waneka Lake. The exhibit will hang at The Collective Community Art Center and the Lafayette Public Library from Jan. 12 – March 5, 2023.
This exhibit is in collaboration with the Lafayette Public Library and Parks and Open Space. Entries must show a clear relation to Waneka Lake in any season, but need not focus on wildlife, landscape, or nature. For example, artworks may feature recreational, social, or cultural aspects of the ways we engage with Waneka Lake and the immediate surrounding area. Please remember to leave no trace when visiting Waneka Lake and Greenlee Wildlife Preserve. This means leaving what you find, staying on the trail, and respecting wildlife and other visitors.
Artists’ implementation of the theme, technical skill, and artistic merit will be considered when selecting the pieces to be exhibited. Local artists of all ages may submit up to two (2) works for consideration. A jury will make final selections for the exhibit. All entries are due by Monday, Dec. 12, 2022. More information can be found at lafayetteco.gov/CFA.
