Starting March 21, the Week of Solidarity with the Peoples Struggling Against Racism and Racial Discrimination raises worldwide awareness to end racism. This week acknowledges the importance of communities and nations to strive towards racial equality and tolerance.
The City of Lafayette recognizes that advancing inclusion and belonging for people of all races, national originals, ethnicities strengthens our community and purpose. We are all part of what makes our community welcoming.
As we recognize this week, it is insightful knowing that our City leaders nurture and promote diversity and inclusion. The City values the voice of all residents with City business, planning, and budgeting processes and through input received from inquiries and community surveys. The Lafayette Human Rights Commission also ensures City processes are inclusive and equitable and provides opportunities to engage our community and foster a sense of belonging.
As we move forward towards ending racism, we are honored knowing the City of Lafayette is an inclusive community where we strive to ensure everyone is supported, safe, and respected. Stay connected with the City at lafayetteco.gov/Connect.
