Artist Statement

This sculpture considers the emotional, physical, and environmental qualities of thoughtful living, and conveys optimism, a state of equilibrium, and well-being.

My name is Jodie Bliss. I am the owner of Bliss Studio Custom Metalwork in Monument, Colorado, and am a practicing artist, blacksmith, and metal fabricator. I have been working in metal for over 19 years and creating everything from custom architectural ironworks and private and fine art commissions to large-scale public sculptures for municipalities. Early in my career, my work focused on self, the individual, and human psychology, which has evolved throughout the years into a practice that focuses on community and culture.
