Artist Statement
Space Moon is an exploration of implied kinetics. The steel shapes intertwine as though it may roll off down the street. The colors are finished in a highly durable powder coat and dance with striking energy. It appears to be an electric light to the viewer’s eye. The form is to reflect life as a celebration in a whimsical dance with the viewer and nature.
Ms. Swanson’s artwork is about change, movement, balance, and growth. Through the artworks, Ms. Swanson seeks to explore the modern culture and its relationship with the natural world. The creative process is extraordinarily involved with time, space, and motion. The relativity of these three aspects of reality in human existence and experience and in the functioning of the natural world is phenomenal. While exploring this phenomenon, this series investigates the primary subject with an understanding of implied kinetics.
