Artist Statement

I enjoy tapping into our cultural and human experience for inspiration. I love the subjective and ambiguous and a bit of mystery, trusting the viewer's personal interpretation from their own life experience. My creations tug at heartstrings, touch on memories, explore creation, flirt with whimsy.

I ask the viewer to suspend judgment or explanation and to first simply absorb the image, ponder it awhile without words and eventually respond. There is no right or wrong interpretation, only one's genuine, personal response.

I enjoy the veins of a leaf, the workings of a bank vault clock as much as the literary works of Victor Hugo. I appreciate the elegance of Brancusi, the raw spiritual power of Rodin, the reductive form of Modigliani, and the decorative fun of Steampunk.

I like to suggest that clouds, floating freely through the atmosphere that we all share around the globe, can serve as an example of how to become better stewards of our natural resources and share them in peace.
