[ARCHIVED] Lafayette Police Department News Release - Unlawful Discharge of Firearms

The Lafayette Police Department has received over 30 reports of gun shots being fired in Lafayette over the past year. The majority of the calls received were reported from the southeast area of town. Detectives have been conducting an extensive investigation into these reports with the help of residents. So far in the investigation, nine handguns have been recovered by police, four of which were stolen from other jurisdictions. Lafayette Police Department has executed several search warrants and arrest warrants during this investigation and to date, has made eight arrests. See the full news release for more details.
