Mile High Flood District (MHFD) helps raise awareness of flood risks as well as helps residents understand their role. To prepare for the flood season, the Flood Hazard Brochure is mailed annually to all property owners whose properties are in or near a high-risk flood zone to help them understand flood risk and provide mitigation options. View the brochure mailed to Lafayette residents in or near an area that has a high flood risk.
View the MHFD map to determine if your property is located in a floodplain. It could be within or near either a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) regulated floodplain or a local regulatory floodplain. These are considered areas that have a 1% or greater chance of being flooded in any given year (a high risk of flooding) and are often referred to as the 100-year floodplain.
