On April 16, at approximately 2259 hours officers of the Lafayette Police Department were involved in an officer involved shooting of a domestic violence suspect in the 700 block of South Lafayette Drive. The suspect ran from officers, displayed a knife, made statements he had a gun, and was subsequently shot by one of the officers. The suspect was injured and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for medical treatment. The police officers were not injured during the incident. The Boulder County Investigation Team, also known as the Boulder Critical Incident Team (“BCIT”), will investigate the officer’s use of force. See the full news release for more details.
