The City of Lafayette’s zoning regulation prohibits short-term rentals, though dozens operate throughout the city today. As a result, the City is embarking on a public process to determine the conditions under which short-term rentals could be allowed in Lafayette. New regulations are being explored that focus on limiting impacts on the local housing supply and minimizing neighborhood disturbances near short-term rentals.
There are numerous ways to provide input, including meetings with City staff and online tools through Lafayette Listens. Community input will be shared with the Planning Commission and City Council later in the year prior to writing the new regulations this fall.
